The drawing, carried out at the beginning of 1526, shows a careful study for the construction of the “secret library”, commissioned to Michelangelo by Clemente VII, to accomodate the more precious volumes of the Laurenziana Library. The project, then never complited, shows, together with accurate captions of the artist, a triangular space marked, along each wall, by alcoves alternate with squares meanwhile, in the central part, there are wooden reading desks, placed in concentric triangles around a circular desk.
