What no one dared question back in April, is now forgotten and Einstein’s national affiliation has become a matter of interpretation : „ .. as a scientific personality and as a researcher – in this position he was awarded the Nobel Prize – Professor Einstein definitely belongs to the German Reich.” The representative of the Prussian Ministry of Science, Art and Culture is convinced that even Einstein himself would hardly understand that he was not treated as a German in the context of an event of such importance for the German scientific community.
