This caudal vertebra is from the midsection of the tail. Near the top of the neural arch, you can see a large hole. This was the result of a bite from a large predator - but there is evidence of bone regrowth around the bite mark. The bone had begun to heal, indicating that the Stegosaurus survived the attack.
