Assembly of the heavy liquid bubble chamber, Gargamelle

Assembly of the new heavy liquid bubble chamber, Gargamelle. The pipes which convey pressure changes to the diaphragms of the expansion system were manoeuvred into place at the end of September 1969. The seven nitrogen tanks of the expansion system were also installed in the assembly hall and tests of the system was to be carried out using two large tanks to simulate the chamber body itself which would not arrive until early 1970.
