Experience in Material No. 58 – A RETURN OF BRUNO TAUT 2016

This work is a science fiction film based on <experience in material no. 56: museum>, installation of Japanese architect Ryoji Suzuki. His installation was displayed in 1945-2010 Japan’s representative architecture exhibition hall(2014-2015) of Kanagawa 21st century museum. <experience in material no. 58 – a return of bruno taut 2016>(2016) shows perception of material world, which is captured by human and machine which is captured in a different way.

Ryoji Suzuki is an architect and earned a Master of Engineering degree from the Department of Architecture at Waseda University. He won 1997 Japan Architecture Association Design Award, and 2005 Togo Murano Ward for ‘Project Konbira’. He has continued creative works transcending genres such as film, book, and photo as well as architecture through series works of ‘Experience in Material’.

Satoshi Furuya is primarily known as a film critique who contributes articles to various publications. He also runs G.F.S., a group committed to screening films not officially released in Japan. He also organized film screenings, distributed films, and edited various publications.

Sho Miyake is a film director. His 2012 film <playback> was selected for the international competition section of the Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland. In 2014, <the cockpit>(2014) was officially selected and screened at the Cinéma du Réel International Film Festival. In the same year, he produced a video diary series titled <diary without words>.
