The human mummy, one of the prized collections of the Indian Museum, Kolkata is said to be about 4000 years old. Wrapped up in a painted cloth with the arms tied down to the sides and the front parts of the feet being fallen away. The bones of the face, crumbled head and feet of the body are exposed. The mask that lay over the face has been removed and fastened to the front of the chest. The paintings on the cloth bear designs like sword with butt, snake and some Hieroglyphs.
