A water pitcher stand like this is called a ghadaunj or sometimes ghadvanji. Three water pots could be placed on this ghadaunj. Once the pots were filled with water, it was kept in the courtyard at the centre of a cluster of houses for everyone to use. This ghadaunj was made by the carpenter using excess unused wood leftover after making other furniture and objects.
