In this image, non-perishables made of boiled and dried sea cucumber known as iriko are being produced. They are introduced as a local product of Tsushima. Iriko has been treasured since medieval times as highly valued foodstuff that was thought to make you stronger. From the middle of the Edo period (1603-1868) onwards, it became a major export product to China as well.
