September landscape of Mt.Mudeung

Oh Ji-ho (1905-1982) created this painting when was invited as a professor in Gwangju. If his former works were called to be Impressionistic, then this work could be included into Fauvist works. He got rid of minute strokes and details, then constituted the pictorial space into large parts of colors. Thus, he sought for a simplified composition of space on the whole. Also, this work was done on plywood not on a canvas, so the flat and even feelings of strokes were conformed. This Fauvist tendency was intermittently continued in the 1950's.
