At the turn of the twentieth century, board game makers made games of all different types, similar to the many kinds of games people play today. Clark & Sowdon's "Five In A Row" is very similar to today's Tic-Tac-Toe, except it uses five markers instead of three. Friendly cat images on the box cover appealed to children of both sexes.
