<hidden layer>(2019) is a place-specific interactive installation which collects data of spaces such as artificial city and nature. The work installs many biosensors which collect information on environment in spaces, and converts the data into physical forms or light. The data is visualized in a large grid or mesh shape composed of beam, and sound is created based on real-time sound waves on site.
Johnny DiBlasi researches aesthetic possibilities from data collected in real time, and explores how to connect our environment and technology. He is an Iowa State University assistant professor of art and visual culture specializing in scientific visualization and digital media.
