Bitu Ucu (Bamboo flute)

Bitu Ucu. Flute. Made from a segment of bitu (bamboo), sealed naturally at both ends. Cylindrical in shape and round in section. Five holes evenly spaced and drilled into the side of the bitu with three additional holes around the circumference from the central hole. Lines of geometric compartmentalised patterns burned into the surface of the bitu in dark brown colour. The bitu itself is yellow-brown in colour. The bitu is cracked along its length.
