Museu da República

Museu da República
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The year 1988, in which the new Brazilian Constitution was promulgated, was also the year in which the abolition of slavery in the country completed 100 years. Black movements took advantage of the occasion to protest against racism and the marginalization of the black population in Brazilian society, but also to celebrate men and women who served as an example in the fight for dignity, respect and the affirmation of black culture.
