Bunker rendered his model’s delicate face and hands with soft, even light, and placed pink and yellow roses on a nearby dressing table to suggest that her beauty will ultimately fade. Page, a Boston socialite, was a friend and model to a number of artists, including Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
