Louis XIV decided to go to war against the Dutch in 1671: on one side Mars shows him the victories that await him and the triumph that this will bring him, but the king also listens to Minerva who shows him the miseries of war. Justice, holding a sword and a scales, is also depicted behind the king, showing him the same scene as Minerva, and thus justifying the adversities that must be overcome.
