Bernice Bing (1936-1998) was a Chinese American lesbian artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area art scene. She was well known for her involvement in the San Francisco Beat community, as well as her artistic practice that straddled Bay Area figurative and Abstract Expressionist painting. Her work draws from New Age spirituality, calligraphy, and the natural landscapes of California.
