A pidda is a stool raised up on four legs fixed to a frame, between which the seat is woven. It is commonly used by the women in residences. A pidda is gifted to the bride as part of the bridal trousseau along with other items of vernacular furniture like khaat (charpoy), sandook (chest or cabinet), and fine clothes and jewellery.
