Elizabeth, Queen of Bohemia (1596-1662) was the eldest daughter of James VI and I and Anne of Denmark. She married Frederick V Elector Palatine, in 1613 and became Queen of Bohemia in 1619-20. The portrait compares with, and possibly derives from, an engraving after Miereveld. The dating of this portrait has been attributed to c. 1625 -32, due to the fact that her costume is of a continental pattern from the period c. 1625 -35 and she is not depicted in mourning attire, her husband died on the 29th November 1632.
