The webbing of this manja was made using coloured cotton ropes. The pattern created by weaving the ropes resembles phulkari embroidery. Phulkari, literally translates to flower-work, and is a traditional embroidery technique in Punjab. This manja was surrounded by several examples made recently using metal.
