Cosmetic brushes, Kumano brush

All the different types of Kumano brushes made since the Taishō period, make-up brushes have ben winning great popularity both in and outside of Japan in recent years. While in other countries brushes are made by trimming the tip of the brush, Kumano’s make-up brushes are characteristic in that they are made the same way as any other Kumano brush — by aligning the bottom of the brush bundle and make use of the tips. This helps to create excellent make-up brushes that allow a soft, gentle touch on the skin, making it possible to achieve subtle make-up effect. Kumano’s make-up brushes have become more and more well known every year, such as being popularly used by Hollywood make-up artists, given to the Nadeshiko Japan women’s soccer team as People’s Honor Award in August of 2011, and purchased as souvenirs.
