Media Surface Lab / Emoji Center

The work is made to show that emoji (emotional pictorial symbol) characters exist as an entity. The artists move emojis to reality and induce the audience to meet and see emojis in person and understand them better. Emoji character set is expanded into a communication tool as it is made into language based on grammar and syntax rule. The work explores emotional expressions expressed through today’s technologies by making the audience who are used to emojis to use new expression methods of emojis in a digital communication platform. 1369 individual characters experiment the starting point where our real emotions are erased and digital emotions start through the strategy that visitors adopt their own emojis in the digital world.
