Transogram's Big Business board game is one of the very early games that may have come about from knowledge of Elizabeth Magie Phillips' Landlord's Game. Transogram brought out Big Buisiness around the same time Parker produced Monopoly. Parker attempted to stop the production of Big Business and several other makers' versions of the game because they (Parker) owned both the Phillips and Darrow patents on Monopoly by that time. Some of these lesser makers, however, threatened to reveal that they had played the game Monopoly before the Darrow "invention" of it and Parker allowed them to continue. None, of course, achieved the success of Monopoly. The similarity of Big Business' game board to that of Landlord's Game and thus, to Monopoly, is remarkable.
