THE ROYAL SHOW 1963.
PC/
The Royal Show 1963 is taking place at Stoneleigh Abbey Park, near Kenilworth, Warwickshire. For nearly one hundred and twenty five years the Royal Show has been taking place annually in various parts of the country - it has now returned to the Midlands to Stoneleigh Abbey, the seat of Lord Leigh, which is hoped will become its permanent site. During the many years the show has been taking place, a great deal of changes have been made its presentation - and this years new feature is the helicopter service from which visitors can get an overall view of the enormous area covered by the show rings and exhibition stands.
During the build-up for the show the extremely bad and wet weather has caused much havoc but thanks to the herculean efforts made by all concerned the show will go on as usual. H.M. Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, (President of the Royal
Agricultural Society of England this year) will visit the show on Thursday, 4th. They are expected to enter the main ring in a carriage drawn by Windsor Greys.
