"XMAS XPORTS" CHISWICK FACTORY MAKES TOYS FOR OVERSEAS DG/FM For 364 days of each year, a large toy factory in Chiswick works all out for the 365th day (December 25th). It makes Christmas toys - mostly for the stockings that hang up over overseas fireplaces. The factory's output of lead toys is 35,000 per day, and they include such toys as motor cars, farm animals, and of course soldiers of all kinds. All the lead toys are hand cast and painted. PHOTO SHOWS: "She sits sewing soldiers for shop sales". MISS WINIFRED ARMSTRONG, of North Kensington has been doing just that, for two years, in the Chiswick toy factory. The lead soldiers go on cards. FOX PHOTOS 415622 November 19th 1949 INDUSTRY - TOYS - POST WAR
