The fixed head of Christ invites us to pay attention to his suffering image with the wooden cross on his arms and the trunk on his back. The figure covered in a crimson mantle contrasts with the way he is crowned in a non-sumptuous way. The gray background highlights the constructive elements of the work.
At plain sight, the composition would look like an ornamental piece since the figure of Christ is posing in what seems a wooden ornamented base.
This artwork remained in the Viceregal pinacotheca, later on, it was taken to the conservation center and then it joined the collection of the Museo Nacional de Arte.
