A View of the Drawing Room, Cosham House

Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum

This view of a drawing room is presented from the doorway of an adjoining room. Floor-length windows on the right lead out to the veranda and garden below. The furniture, dating to the 1860's, along with the lattice wallpaper, screen, pictures, books and plants, creates a look of organized clutter, typical of the Victorian style of decoration.
