Transcript of an interview with Kathleen Wrsama who was taken from Ethiopia as a child, to work in Yorkshire as a labourer. She later moved to London and worked as an extra in film studios, and ran a Black seaman's mission in Stepney. Wrsama was a member of the 'Stepney Coloured Peoples Association'. The folder includes letters from children to Wrsama as part of a school project. LWT guidelines on interviewing and regarding a competition titled "The Making of Modern London 1914-1939", entered by the BCA. Also includes, report on investigation into conditions of the coloured population in the Stepney area. Kathleen Wrsama's birth was registered as 15 May 1904. Her death was registered in February 1996 in Tower Hamlets.
She married Sulaban Wrsama in Stepney in the Oct/Nov/Dec quarter of 1945. She is registered under two names for the marriage: Kathleen Lardner and Marian K Lardner.
Solomon Wrsama was born about 1893. His death is registered in March 1964 in Shoreditch.
