The count Serbelloni Sfrondati is portrayed in the act of writing inside a luxurious intern. From the room window it appears the façade of the Venetian church of San Giorgio Maggiore and a small group of people dressed in XVI century style. As it can be witnessed in this work, Fabris was a distinguished portrayist: besides the highly refined rendition of Sfrondati's dress and the room interiors, the author managed to convey the intelligence of the subject through the intensity of his gaze.
