Spring driven with lever escapement, 17 jewels. Manual winding. Caliber 6AE.
Numbers are wider than those ten years earlier, written in calligraphy. In 1930s they would be mostly angular, geometric. The shape of the case and stylization of ornament also point to the time around 1925. Black leather strap is not original.
Inscription on the movement - engraved crescent moon - may refer to 1928 or 1938 as production year. In the period from 1924 till 1945 Bulova put identification codes on the movement. A ladies wrist watch of the same caliber (6AE), made in 1931, is offered for sale on the e-bay.[1]Taking into consideration that its case is numbered 1056892, and the case of this watch 8373132, it is more probable that it is produced in 1928, not in 1938. Besides, in the period from 1935 till c. 1940 movements of Bulova watches are mainly American, and not Swiss produced as in this case.
