While dining from a single thali (plate) on a chowki, roti and rice are served on the plate along with an assortment of vegetables, curries and sweets served in katori (bowls). Separate glasses of water and buttermilk are provided to each person that would be placed within the triangular ends formed in this octagram shaped chowki.
