Siste Mavna /Barge in the Mıst

“Feyhaman 1960” imzalı Siste Mavna tablosu ressamın empresyonist peyzajlarına karakteristik bir örnektir. Severek çalıştığı Boğaziçi’nden bir bölgeyi, Anadoluhisarı önlerini, Boğaziçi’nin ayrılmaz parçalarından bir emektar mavnaya odaklanarak betimler ressam. Bu empresyonist yapıtta denize ve karşı yakanın tepelerine çöken sis, renkleri soluklaştırıp görünüme hüzünlü bir atmosfer verirken, teknenin çizgilerini ve kıyının hemen önündeki eski iskele kazıklarıyla kayaları belirginleştirir, kısacası o anı yakalar.

The painting Barge in the Fog, signed “Feyhaman 1960,” is a characteristic example of the artist’s impressionist landscapes. Depicting a beloved corner of the Bosphorus—off the shores of Anadoluhisarı—the artist focuses on an old, hard-working barge, an inseparable element of the Bosphorus. In this impressionist work, the mist settling over the sea and the hills on the opposite shore softens the colors and lends the scene a melancholic atmosphere, while also sharpening the outlines of the boat and the old pier piles and rocks in the foreground. In short, it captures a fleeting moment in time.
