In the absence of an almari (in-built cabinet), sandook, peti or peti almari, clothes are hung on tangna. Most often, there would be one or two tangna in the house, for the use of the entire family. In vernacular homes, architectural features like beams, or in this case, bamboo rafters are used to hang the tangna.
