This alcove was recorded in a potter’s residence where the family also practised their craft. The house was therefore built with a limited number of domestic spaces. The bottom shelf of this almari was used to store clothes, the centre shelf as a shrine and the top ones to store kitchen items. The family used each space for multiple activities that is reflected in the items stored in the alcove.
