The textile of this chasuble is a red silk damask brocade. The decorative solution, consisting of small balustrades, botanical motifs and exotic birds, is typical of the early 18th century and belongs to that happy creative moment that critics have called "bizarre". Bizarre' designs are often purely imaginative motifs inspired by architectural elements or various objects and animals that develop on asymmetrical and oblique layouts of strong formal and chromatic abstraction.
