THE SCUTTLED FRENCH FLEET.
The French Fleet lies scuttled in Toulon Harbour.
From lesser
auxiliary craft to destroyers and battle-cruisers they are all crewless
and derelict.
R.A.F. reconnaissance planes which flew over the
Harbour a few hours after the scuttling on November 27th reported that
more than fifty ships were damaged or partly submerged. Even those
ships which were not actually sunk had been dismantled by the French
sailors before scuttling.
