The poster, made with the cut and paste technique features multiple characters from the film. The first noticable image in the poster is that of the protagonist Sikandar, played by Amitabh Bachchan. In the frame of the poster, an enlarged cut out of his injured faceis present towards the left half of the poster in which he is also holding a gun. Towards the top right corner area is a bust-length image of the character Zohra, a courtesan, played by Rekha. Below Sikandar's image, from left to right, images of many other characters are placed in a series. From the left, first comes a bust length image of the character J.D., played by Ranjeet. Next to his image is an image of the character Fatima, Sikandar's adoption mother, played by Nirupa Roy. Next to her image is another image showing a female character sitting next to Sikandar, who is holding an alcohol bottle in his left hand. Next to this image is a bust length image of the character Dilawar,
played by Amjad Khan. In the end is an image of the character Kaamna, played by Rakhi, distressed and stopping the character Vishal Anand, played by Vinod Khanna. Below the composition of these images is the film title in Devanagari. Below the film title, from the left, first comes 'MUSIC: KALYANJI ANANDJI'. Next to this is 'LYRICS: ANAND BAKSHI'. In the end along the same line towards the bottom right corner, 'CINEMASCOPE' is also printed. Towards the bottom left corner, along the left border, the name of the artist is printed as 'NARAYAN ARTIST' in a vertical orientation. On the top area, centrally aligned, 'PRAKESH MEHRA'S' is printed.
