Józef Rapacki was born on 19 March 1871 in Warsaw, dying in 1929 in Olszanka near Żyrardów. He was a painter, graphic artists, and illustrator, creating sentimental landscapes. He was educated under Wojciech Gerson in Warsaw, as well as at the School of Fine Arts in Munich. The core of Rapacki’s painting was plein air painting, created in contact with nature and portraying rural and urban landscape scenes.
