THOUSANDS OF NEW TELEPHONES FOR LONDON.
Owing to the great popularity of the new telephone, which the public are able to hire at a small extra cost, the Post Office has just ordered 35,000 more of the type, in which earphones and mouthpieces are combined. These telephones are made at Messrs. Siemens, Woolwich, and most of the work is done by girls. These pictures were taken at the factory and show the thousands of phones being made to meet the huge Post Office order.
