Landscape with mountains, lake, and willows

Willows on the bank of the lake are fading in the haze, changing their color from blue-green to pale yellow-green. A beautiful work with an elaborate depiction of the lakeside view.
Hine Taizan, a Kaioku’s pupil, made a picture in a similar composition. On that picture, Kaioku wrote an inscription with the same poem as this work and it shows that it was made in 1852. So, if this Kaioku’s picture was painted around the same time, it might be when he was 75 years of age.
