A Bit of Blue

A figure wearing a long coat and black cap stands next to a table. He is inspecting a blue/white vase which has just been unpacked from a crate. Top right is a wall mounted shelf with further example of the porcelain.
The subject is depicted holding a K’ang Hsi (1662-1722) porcelain ginger jar with similar porcelain in the background; these wares were seriously collected in the 1870s & 1880s.
