Housing problems during the Second World War led to an investigation into new ways of building permanent homes. The Ministry of Works established an experimental demonstration site in Northolt to explore new methods of construction and to show new homes to the public. This photograph features in the Ministry of Works volume 'A Survey of Prefabrication', March 1945.
