Herbert Felton's photograph for the National Buildings Record shows an Ionic capital among the charred timbers of Montagu House in Portman Square. Designed by James Stuart, the house was built between 1777 and 1782 for Elizabeth Montagu. It was destroyed by an incendiary bomb during the Second World War.
