I was prompted in my BALTIC workshop to try using collage. I only had one magazine and so my subject matter is rather random as I didn't have a lot of choice. No narrative is intended in my animation yet I feel the viewer will always search for underlying meanings. The sound effects came afterwards; they try to give a sense of story yet in reality just further the sense of confusion. I found a film without narrative was more likely to be enjoyed by the viewer for the visuals and sounds that have been pieced together.
This piece was made at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art as part of Arts Council England's The Way I See It project which captures the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on the lives of children and young people, articulated in their own voices, through their own creativity.
BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead creates and produce exhibitions, events and learning opportunities that explore the role of art and artists, and the world around us.
