A Confederate war bond issued by the State of Louisiana acknowledging a debt of $500.00 to the bearer. Bonds were issued to "appropriate one million of dollars in bonds of the state for the purpose of arming and equipping the volunteers and militia for the defense of the state and to repel invasions." The bond number is Bond No. 4. It was issued in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on March 1, 1862.
