A corset - element of traditional Lachy Sądeckie costume

Women’s costumes from Podegrodzie were as splendid as the men’s and embroidery was even more important. Black velvet corsets’ stiches were ornamented with colourful “siutaź" [soutache]. With development of embroidery techniques, these were replaced by stylized tree branches made from colourful, glass beads and sequins.
