A Folio from the Surasagara

The miniature illustrates the verse of Surdasa verbatim. Krishna is dancing in the garden pavilion. The thrilled mother Yashoda wishes that nothing untoward happens to her son. If ever, let it come to her. Nanda is delighted, and it incites passion in the mind of Lord Shiva. Surdasa, seated in a corner pavilion, is composing his verse.
