Oil on canvas painting, depicting a game of cricket being played between a man and young children. Image depicts a bent over older man, leaning on a walking stick and about to bowl under-arm to a little boy opposite. The boy holds a small, modern-shaped bat, and is smiling. Sitting on a log nearby is a smiling woman, holding a baby which is reaching out to the boy, and a younger girl perches on the ground beside them. The wickets are made of twigs and at the bowler's end have two sets of stumps. Near the man is an upturned basket with strings attached, and a shovel or other farming implement leant against it. The scenery is rustic, with some simple cottages and a field beyond.
