A group of protesting workers in Radom

Protests broke out in response to a hike in food prices, beginning with a strike in Radom. The militia put down the protests. Several thousand people were arrested and then tortured. The most common method was the so-called “health path” in which people were made to run through a cordon of militiamen lashing at them with their batons.
