Moraine: a loyal glacier’s companion; it’s detrital body maintains the memories of the glacier and its past extensions. It originates from the ice movements, grows through the accumulation of the detritus which have been brought downstream and once it has become “adult” it takes the shape of an elongated bump which marks the historical level reached by the glacier before its retreat.
