A painter in his studio

Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn (Anonymous pupil of)1600 - 1700

The Kremer Collection

The Kremer Collection
Amsterdam, Netherlands

This painting most likely has been inspired by Rembrandt's famous painting The painter in his studio now in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. For many years our painting was attributed to Gerrit Dou in the arthistorical literature. Over the last years some doubts have been expressed by experts and Van de Wetering has recently attributed the painting to an unnamed Rembrandt pupil.
